Iris Recognition for Identity Verification
|
Iris recognition is considered one of the most accurate biometric components. One of the significant challenges with iris recognition is the time it takes to capture an image of the eye, which can take up to 15 seconds.
In 2015, a joint collaboration with Iran Nara implemented a combination of iris and fingerprint recognition on Hyosung ATMs. This pilot version was successfully operated for two years on the ATMs of Dey Bank and Maskan Bank. Applicants seeking to withdraw money from the ATM had to first receive biometric verification before the payment process could begin. Additionally, the XFS program was developed in this context, which could directly call the smart card within the ATM and utilize biometric capabilities such as fingerprint and face matching on the smart card. |
